I'm having real trouble with getting a Merchant account set-up.

I am pretty adverse to using PayPal for a number of reasons that I've heard:

**they have a tendancy to "Freeze" your account, invariably for no good reason.
**they refund customers, in some cases WITHOUT consulting you first.
**Sometimes, will not even let you access your own account.

BUT, however, I do need a Merchant Facility.

My problem is:

I have virtually ZERO trading history and my main product line is Forex Products.

Now, it seems that merchants are classing this as, in some cases, as giving Financial Advice....I am not FSA regulated and I'm very clear about that fact on my website.

I have a business account with LLoyds TSB and they offer Merchant facilities. However, the Application fee is £350...which is pretty high.

Does anybody know of a UK Merchant whom are fairly straight forward with getting a merchant account approved.

Nochex are too basic for me. 2CO (2checkout) will not allow FX products to be sold.

I think it is highly likely that my Bank will not approve me for Merchant Facilites as normally a trader needs "6 months trading history" to even be considered.

My answer to that is: "If I can't get a Merchant account, how am I supposed to build up a Trading History"?

Can anybody recommend a Merchant Facility to me? (bear in mind I have virtually ZERO Trading history) my products range from £50 quid to £1,000.

I am also a Sole Trader & VAT Registered.

But still paypal is good for both point of views customers and sellers .. other Good merchants are Authorize.net, 2checkout and ccnow
