Default Help - Accepting Offline Payments?

    Hello,

I just signed up today to try and get some help. At the moment I use paypal to process my payments however I am looking at using a merchant account instead.

However there's one thing I'm having trouble finding out. I want to not only accept payments online but also offline. I would like to be able to sell products over the phone and maybe even mail order. My customers could tell me the credit card numbers ok over the phone, but how can I process them?

Is a normal merchant account ok for this? Or does it need something special?

I'd really like the cheapest option without sacrificing on quality of course.

    Thank you,

I'm looking forward to your answers

    Mike

Not all merchant accounts offer this as standard. It's called a virtual terminal by most people and is a way to do what you want.

WorldPay for example does not include it as standard. To add virtual terminal costs a one of set up fee of £100 in the UK.

As much as it pains me to say I think the best provider with a virtual terminal is Paypal Website Payments Pro. This doesn't have any setup fee and will include the virtual terminal once its activated.
