If you’re struggling with your Internet Marketing efforts, just stop and go fishing!
Let me tell you a little story about fishing and it is a great analogy for Internet Marketing as well. My grandfather was a great fisherman. He would go down to his favorite Trout steam and watch for a couple of things. He would watch where the Trout were sucking insects off of the surface and he would watch to see what insects were hatching and being eaten. He would then tie a fly right there at the side of the stream and fish that spot he identified and bring home a Creel full of Trout.
Most fishermen are causal fishermen, they decide on the bait before they go fishing and they just fish somewhere, not really choosing a spot on the stream or lake where the fish are congregated. Do they catch fish? Sure, they catch one now and then. But, the serious fishermen, like my grandfather, look for the fish and find out what they are eating. The serious fishermen always brings home more than enough to eat.
To make your Internet Marketing business a serious business and one that will make money, you must follow my grandfather’s example of how a serious fisherman catches more fish. Find out where the fish are and use the correct bait. How you accomplish that task is of vital importance to your existence as an Internet Marketer and one that is easy to learn. Don’t find the bait first, and then decide to go fishing. Find the fish first then get your bait ready.
You begin by finding where the fish are feeding. In this case, you need to identify the hot niches in the income stream where the fish are biting if you really want to make money. There are several excellent products available to help you find that niche and you should begin with Google and Yahoo to see what is trending in their search traffic. Then use tools like Spyfu and Wordtracker help you choose your bait; sort of like tying a fly at the side of the stream.
It is best to find a niche that has a subject you are familiar with. Why? Because, familiarity with the niche will help you write about it and help you pick an appropriate product for that niche. Your job is to out-market the competition and for you to be able to do that requires familiarity with that product. An important ingredient in any successful marketing campaign is blogging and article writing about your niche. If you are unfamiliar with that niche you can’t write about it effectively without doing lots of research.
Then you need to find the right bait, in the form a product or products that the fish will feed upon. Again, knowing your subject will help you identify weak points in the competitions campaigns and allow you to capitalize on those weaknesses. I’ll repeat this for clarity, your job as an Internet Marketer is to be smarter than the rest of the field and out market them; not find a niche that no one is attending to and be the first one at the stream. Stand shoulder to shoulder with the other fishermen and simply out fish them. It can be done and I do it every single day. Let me teach you how to fish and make money!
