I have been marketing on the Internet since 1996. Yes, that is several lifetimes ago. In fact, I have one of the oldest and still active Yahoo email accounts, gordontaylor(at)yahoo.com and it was originally on their f1 mail server.

Over the years, 14 to be exact this next November, I have made good money; enough in fact to retire 6 years ago, well ahead of the normal retirement age here in America.

I have belonged to MLM's, Banner Exchanges (are you old enough to remember Link Exchange, once bought out by Microsoft?), and of course Affiliate Programs. I have used Aweber for so long that it's funny. The very first time I called them with a support question, back in 1998, Tom Kulzer was answering the phone himself! If you don't know, Tom is the founder and CEO.

So, I guess you could call me a well seasoned journeyman within the Internet Marketing venue.

Of all products I have sold, I have found the most profitable is one that you own. A real no brainer huh? Don't get me wrong, Affiliate Programs have made me good money, but you won't believe what profit you can make from your own product(s). If any Internet Guru was totally honest with you, he would tell you the real profit is in products they have developed. Once they become mildly successful, they develop a "How I Did It" package and broadcast it via affiliate networks like Click Bank and PayDotCom.

I am not saying you MUST develop your own "How To" program, simply develop a product that you own and are capable of producing, such as a PLR product in a niche you are expert in.

Why does that make you more money? Think about it.
 • If you choose to NOT go the Affiliate route (a good idea in the beginning) you will virtually have no competition for your specific product. There may be others in you niche, just out market them and you'll have some gold in your pocket!
 • You control the source, a key factor in any industry.
 • If you produce a digital product, beyond your time and the cost of a few tools, it's all profit.
 • If you produce a physical product (those have made me the most money) again, you will have a unique property albeit in a crowded physical product marketplace. Google the competition and just out market them!
So, put on your thinking caps and get some ideas, put them down on paper, I mean physically write them down, not typing them on the computer. Spend at least a month brainstorming and you will find something that will be your ticket to the beginning of your success.
