Default Stupidity of Hostgator!

Wait, first, no offence lol.

It started this once when I paid them $50++ for a reseller hosting package. And when I used my credit card to pay, they emailed me the next day for a fraud check, I was required to call them up at a US number. Then when I got everything done, they wanted my proof of address. I was thinking, the internet bills, electricity bills, phone bills , are all not paid by me nor under my name. So I told them if a photo ID would do, they rejected it. I got more pissed off as when I went into Live chat, and appealed to one of their staff, then he told me my account was banned because my country was placed as " SG - Singapore " and my state : "SG" and my city : "SG" . I seriously was very furious at that time and posted a negative review about them at the forum, their customer service manager came up and flamed me instead of helping, which is terrible. So then, I also flamed her back and said that Singapore has no state nor cities and asked her to do some search before she says anything. Then I got banned lol

My domain registered was also locked!

But anyway, the main point of this, is not to buy any services from Hostgator! Namecheap is the best of all!

Sometimes you get stupid service by stupid people, this does not say that they are stupid, just at that point when they lacked knowledge on a certain things. Kinda reminds me of Paypal in someways or any company's that gets to big.

I haven't personally used HostGator, but I used a company called HostVector before it was absorbed by HostGator. 'Vector had some issues that I decided I didn't like, but I never had any complaints about their service.

HG is actually a very good company. It does sound like a funny situation though and one that they potentially miss-handled. But all in all, they are one of the more responsive web hosts out there. The 24/7 chat and phone support is very handy. Although with complicated issues they tend to need to pass it along to a higher level of support to resolve.

Host gator should be compatible with Vista. What they mean by Linux hosting is that their servers run on Linux. I asked a Live Representative and they said this. Hope this helps
Just go back to the question and you should have the option to delete it, i dont think you get your points back though.
