Hello,
I'd like to know can people trick Paypal from opening a dispute? I recently sold a item on ebay but I was in New York when it was sold so I could not send it right away. I sent it late but now the buyer opened a dispute and paypal took the money away and is looking into the problem. He should receive it today or tomorrow. When he does receive it, can the buyer lie to Paypal and say he didn't get the item? What can I do, I have a feeling that's what's gonna happen. Is it possible? Thanks in advance.

I would like to think that most people are honest. With this said, I think they will drop the dispute. I am assuming that you did not send it "Return Receipt Requested"? Meaning, that you would have proof that it was mailed and received?

Odds are this has been resolved by now, but usually simply provide Paypal the tracking number of your shipment (assuming you have one) and if it shows as delivered they would reverse the dispute and release your funds.
If you have no proof that the buyer received the item - yes, certainly there is nothing stopping from them lying and saying that they did not receive the item from you, in which case you would not get the funds back. Always get a tracking number anytime possible. |

Yeah they tend to be good about resolving these issues as long as you have a record of some sort... From time to time they have been known to "make mistakes" because of the high volume of transactions they need to check out on a daily basis. But you should be fine.

I think you you must to wait for vendor responds for some days. And after you can go to paypal. At thais point paypal will make the final decision.

1) You've been conned by one of the oldest eBay cons going. The overseas shipping con. Never sell overseas, or if you do you ask them for a UK address and they forward from there. They know that all tracking stops at the UK border so know they can claim back all their money on good that apparently don't arrive - that money & items have gone!!
2) Go to your bank in person and close any connection with your old eBay / PayPal account; same way you do for old Direct Debits. 3) Report the buyer to eBay as a conman; outlining the way you have been scammed and what you are liable to loose (items and money). 4) Phone Paypal and explain the situation, state this is a con, state that you have already reported this customer to eBay, explain that you cant access that account as it's been closed so cant respond to the dispute. Might be worth telling a wee white lie and saying he called you on your mobile from a withheld number to confirm the items were there and was delighted with the quality. |
