Installing the Worldpay Invisible XML Plugin
WorldPay is one of the most popular merchant accounts which can be used to help accept credit cards on your web site. However it doesn't work in quite the same way as most other merchant accounts.
Third Party Web site
When your customers process orders on your site with a normal Worldpay installation they will be redirected to a third party website. The idea behind this is to protect the details of your customers and prevent their credit card details from being stolen.
The problem with this is that the process isn't seamless. Your customers will be diverted to another page before being able to pay.
XML Invisible
There is a solution if you still want to use Worldpay to process your payments. The best method is to use Invisible XML. This will allow you to process the payments on your site without directing your visitors anywhere else.
Security
Because your site will process the payments itself there is a possibility that you will put the payment details at risk. For this reason Worldpay must ensure that your site is fully secure.
To check the security of your site you will need PCI tests performed on your site. There are a number of companies on the Internet which can provide PCI-DSS tests and issue you with a certificate.
Installing Invisible XML Worldpay
Depending on the type of software you are using for your site the installation process will be different. Worldpay will issue you with a new Worldpay Installation ID and XML Password.
Install the correct module into Oscommerce, WHMCS or whichever store software you are using to support Invisible XML. Then you need to input the installation ID and password into the correct fields.
Testing
The account will initially be activated in testing mode. This allows you to check that the details are being passed to Worldpay correctly. Once you have tested the installation you will the be able to apply to have the account activated in production mode.
