RBS Worldpay Application Process
RBS Worldpay was one of the first companies set up to help other businesses accept credit card payments online. It's also one of the most popular merchant accounts in the world. However applying for a merchant account can be very confusing, especially when dealing with RBS.
Applying Online
One of the best things about dealing with RBS Worldpay is that it's all done online. Click the link to sign up and then entering all of your information. This form takes under 15 minutes to complete and you will need to enter your company number, bank account details, and various other information.
You will also need to enter a credit or debit card to charge the activation and first months subscription to. When you receive the confirmation email you are then bound by a contract.
Keep a copy of all the paperwork that you submit to Worldpay just in case you ever need it again in the future.
Review
This is the process which can take a long time to complete, the merchant review team will check all of the information you have submitted. If any further information is required then they will ask for this and it can take a long time to complete.
Compliance Form
During the review process you will be sent a bank compliance form. This form will need to be taken to the branch where your business bank account is held. All they need to do is stamp it to confirm your identity.
Activation
Once you have got this far your account will be in test mode, this allows you to integrate the system with your website. Once the website has been integrated you then submit an activation request. Worldpay will then test the entire site to ensure that everything is working as it should be. If all is well then they will activate your account and you can start taking payments instantly.
