    Default What rates are you paying?

    What rates are you paying for credit card processing? What do you pay for Visa / Mastercard / Amex / Discover?

    Just interested as I shop around for competitive rates

    Hello,

    I took the easy option of using RBS Worldpay because I needed an account set up quickly and the business gateway plus included a merchant account and payment gateway. Anyway I was wrong that this would be a quick option, it took me the best part of 3 months to apply for!!

    Anyway the rates are 3.35% for all card transactions (as far as I'm aware). What's slightly more irritating is that they set a security deposit of $2500 and also only transfer every month .

    Which merchant accounts/payment gateways is everyone else using? I heard that SagePay is very good, and being run by Sage is a huge plus in my books. Their support for Line 50 is excellent. I did try applying but they never got back to me for some reason!

    Man, those rates are way too excessive. I have found two companies that are competitive for my clients. I am a web designer and often advise and setup mearchant accounts for my clients.

    Prolific Payment Solutions (With Good Credit)
    - 1.59% Swiped
    - 1.9% internet/phone for Visa/MC
    - .30 per transaction
    - Authorize.net - $10 monthly
    - Monthly Account -$9.95

    E-OnlineData (Fair Credit)
    - 1.9% swiped
    - 2.29% internet
    - .33 per transaction
    - Authorize.net - $15
    - Account Minimum - $25
    - iPhone Solution - $30 monthly
    - $25 monthly minimum
